Day 2

The travel to Wuhan University never stopped in a day and went on into the second day. We checked out of the Customs and meet Ms. Alicia Hock at the receiving area. With our luggages, we manage to look for the two bus that will be bringing the group to the hostel. Suprisingly, the luggage had a bus catered to load them, with another bus for passenger. And this is how the loading works, by means of bus entrance and windows. Catch the heros of the night in the picture above!!!

Not forgetting the hero aka camera man!

reach hostel

Finally, home SWEET home!!!

~Nothing to be compared to a one inch thick bed just lying there to be lied on~

My first Wuhan Breakfast ! Two pieces of pancakes and the orientation begins shortly. The expectation is that the class are to meet at 10am at the front of hostel, same system applies!

The salon and stationary shops

The campus clinic, but it seems to be available for the residents living nearby too.

The building which most lessons will be held at.

The 7th storey view of the parade square of campus! Majestic!

The classes will be held at the 5th, 6th and 7th storey.

5th storey will be our multimedia room, where all the computers are made available for students usage.

The storey above will be the classroom for Project Management module.

7th floor is the staff room.

Teacher's table! Unbelievablely neat!!
6th floor Classroom!

And we have a problem here...

Power socket are all of China's version!!!

Looks like the school's bag is going to add a little weight...

The outside view from classroom.

Our only source of supply of cold air

Level 5- Multimedia Lab

After visiting the 国际学院, we went forward to the parade square which is the main gate, also right in front of the classroom area. The picture below is the view from the main gate into WUST.

The security post is actually meant for the health check of visitors, not really for security. I was told by the China student helpers that this post is setup at the SARS period for healthcare of students coming into campus. Now the SARS period is down, the school insist health checks for incoming visitors for the sake of student's welfare.

As been explained by the student helpers, the hostel is actually called 学八, it is located at the northwest of the campus, right at the junction where 三弓路and 旅大街 crossed junction.

Moving on, we were guided to the canteen which is approximately 2 mins walk from our hostel. The canteen is usually flooded with people at 12pm, similar to Singapore, suggested to listen to lesson and end lesson fast, preferrably by 11am make it to the canteen. Or else end up queuing for 30 mins to have lunch!!!

The rest of the day is resting and cleaning...

Personal Reflection/Feelings:

The people of China are used to the surroundings, that we are now complaining... The environment is not as clean as Singapore, the air is visibly polluted, food is not handled properly as well. But, are we allowed to complain? I strongly believe that it is us that is over-spoilt. Instead of complaining and critisizing, we should show respect to the locals way of living, and cherish with what we had in Singapore.
Respect to people in China, Wuhan! Cheers!
